Publications

  • Assessment forms for Teaching Practice Supervision- 1978 designed the assessment forms used in supervising student teachers, at each undergraduate year level.
  • Curriculum documents- I stood on the R-7 Curriculum committee for Language Arts during the three years (1976-79) in which the major policy documents were written for Language Arts and which were subsequently been used widely throughout Australia- R-7 Language Arts- Writing; R-7 Language Arts- Reading; R-7 Language Arts- Listening and speaking; R-7 Language Arts- Programming.
  • ELIC (Early Literacy In-Service Course)- This same committee became the original writing team for the early stages of the ELIC (Early Literacy In- Service Course) materials which not only achieved national funding, being adopted as post teacher training courses in each state, but now exists in parts of the US and England.
  • Parent Pamphlets- This same committee produced pamphlets for parents and schools in eg. spelling, reading, television, transition to secondary schooling, all of which are available from the South Australian Education Department.
  • Lecture summaries and software- In 1990-81 I was the Country Co-ordinator for the South Australian Council for the Australian Reading Association which involved networking and supplying materials and software of speaker sessions to the rural teachers throughout the state. A model I developed for assisting teachers to form a Local Council of the Association has been refined and developed for use on a national basis.
  • Around Australia- Australian Journal of Reading -In 1984-85 I was the editor for the Around Australia section of the Australian Journal of Reading.
